2. What Does This Notice Cover?

This Privacy Information explains how I use your personal data: how it is collected, how it is held, and how it is processed. It also explains your rights under the law relating to your personal data.


3. What is Personal Data?

Personal data is defined by the General Data Protection Regulation (EU Regulation 2016/679) (the “GDPR”) as ‘any information relating to an identifiable person who can be directly or indirectly identified in particular by reference to an identifier’.

Personal data is, in simpler terms, any information about you that enables you to be identified. Personal data covers obvious information such as your name and contact details, but it also covers less obvious information such as identification numbers, electronic location data, and other online identifiers.  The personal data that I use is set out in Part 5, below.


4. What Are My Rights?

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights, which I will always work to uphold:

A) The right to be informed about my collection and use of your personal data. This Privacy Notice should tell you everything you need to know, but you can always contact me to find out more or to ask any questions using the details in Part 11.

B) The right to access the personal data I hold about you. Part 10 will tell you how to do this.

C) The right to have your personal data rectified if any of your personal data held by me is inaccurate or incomplete. Please contact me using the details in Part 11 to find out more.

D) The right to be forgotten, i.e. the right to ask me to delete or otherwise dispose of any of your personal data that I have. Please contact me using the details in Part 11 to find out more.

​E) The right to restrict (i.e. prevent) the processing of your personal data.

F) The right to object to me using your personal data for a particular purpose or purposes.

G) The right to data portability. This means that you can ask me for a copy of your personal data held by me to re-use with another service or business in many cases.

H) Rights relating to automated decision-making and profiling. I do not use your personal data in this way. Part 6 explains more about how I use your personal data, including automated decision-making profiling.  For more information about my use of your personal data or exercising your rights as outlined above, please contact me using the details provided in Part 11.  Further information about your rights can also be obtained from the Information Commissioner’s Office or your local Citizens Advice Bureau. If you have any cause for complaint about my use of your personal data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office.

6. How Do You Use My Personal Data?

Under the GDPR, I must always have a lawful basis for using personal data. This may be because the data is necessary for my agreement of a contract to work with you, because you have consented to my use of your personal data, or because it is in my legitimate business interests to use it. Your personal data may be used for one of the following purposes:

When you first get in touch – Booking a 20 free consultation

A) By your consent, in order for me to respond to your initial communication

B) As part of a ‘contract’ of the communication enquiry

C) For legitimate business reasons: To keep track of the kind of enquiries I get and because I may email you later on if I have new practices or offerings that I think may be relevant or of a similar nature of interest to you. This is not the same as subscribing to a newsletter

D) Persons of interest: Providing contact details of a person or persons I may need to contact for you in the event of an emergency, details of which must be agreed with by the person or persons by yourself, prior to providing me with the information.

For private sessions with me on a 1-1 basis in person, by telephone/Skype/zoom or another virtual platform.

In order to work together to help you move forward, and in order to support you with the issue you would like to work on, your personal details are required in order for me to enter into a contract with you.  This will mean providing more details of your current issue, which may include personal and private details of a sensitive nature, a time line of life history including positive and negative events and experiences from birth, a medical history, medication, details of any other medical or alternative interventions or treatment, contact details of other professionals past and present you are working with, or any other information that is relevant to what is going for you and in order that we are able to work together. If you are not comfortable with this, or you do not want to give certain information this means that we may not be able to work together. 


Supplying my services to you.  Personalising and tailoring my services for you.  Communicating with you. This may include responding to emails or calls from you. Supplying you with information by email, text, messenger or post that you have opted-in to (you may unsubscribe or opt-out at any time by contacting me at I take hand written notes during our sessions as part of our contract of work together and also to review progress from session to session. These are filed in your own personal folder under an initial and number for my identification purposes only in a locked filling cabinet.


With your permission and/or where permitted by law, I may also use your personal data for marketing purposes, which may include contacting you by email, telephone, text, Messenger or post, with information, news, and offers on of my services. You will not be sent any unlawful marketing or spam. I will always work to fully protect your rights and comply with my obligations under the GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003, and you will always have the opportunity to opt-out.

I frequently hold sessions via virtual platforms such as Skype, Zoom, Google, Face-time, which means that I receive information and date from these sites. I also take payments via PayPal and on occasion, information from other health professionals as part of a referral, and also as part of our contract, referring you to other health professionals as part of our work together.  No information is passed on without your prior agreement and consent.  I use google analytics, who are fully GDPR as of May 2018, to keep up to date with the use of my website For information about google analytics and how they are GDPR compliant please visit: Google Analytics PP

7. How Long Will You Keep My Personal Data?

I will not keep your personal data for any longer than is necessary in light of the reason(s) for which it was first collected. Your personal data will therefore be kept for the following periods (or, where there is no fixed period, the following factors will be used to determine how long it is kept):  

A) By law and for Tax purposes, I am required to retain records and documents for a minimum of six years.

B) Five years ( by my Insurance Company ) after we stop working together.

8. How and Where Do You Store or Transfer My Personal Data?

I will only store your personal data in the UK. This means that it will be fully protected under the GDPR. All documentation, personal information, sensitive data, intake forms and consultation forms are securely stored on my private work laptop. If hand written or printed they are stored in a folder, in a secure and locked filling cabinet. For additional protection, all clients are filed under an initial and number code to protect identification.  Any email correspondence including emailed attachments are also stored in a password protected folder.  For your own reassurance, you can also protect your emails and attachments prior to sending them to me, with an agreed password that allows me access.   

9. Do You Share My Personal Data?

I do not sell on your personal data.  I will not share any of your personal data with any third parties for any purposes, subject to one important exception.  In some limited circumstances, I may be legally required to share certain personal data, which might include yours, if I am involved in legal proceedings or complying with legal obligations, a court order, or the instructions of a government authority.  In accordance with the current law, I am legally required to overrule client-practitioner confidentially, should you disclose information that I deem to be a real imminent threat to your health and wellbeing or that of others.  Those who may need to be informed may include GP, Police or other relevant legal authority.

I may sometimes contract with third parties such as PayPal, to supply services to you on our/my behalf. These may include payment processing, delivery, and marketing. In some cases, those third parties may require access to some or all of your personal data that I hold.  If any of your personal data is required by a third party, as described above, I will take steps to ensure that your personal data is handled safely, securely, and in accordance with your rights, my obligations, and the third party’s obligations under the law.  In some limited circumstances, I may be legally required to share certain personal data, which might include yours, if I am involved in legal proceedings or complying with legal obligations, a court order, or the instructions of a government authority.

10. How Can I Access My Personal Data?

If you want to know what personal data I have about you, you can ask me for details of that personal data and for a copy of it (where any such personal data is held). This is known as a “subject access request”.  All subject access requests should be made in writing and sent to the email or postal addresses shown in Part 11.  There is not normally any charge for a subject access request. If your request is ‘manifestly unfounded or excessive’ (for example, if you make repetitive requests) a fee may be charged to cover my administrative costs in responding.

I will respond to your subject access request within one month and, in any case, not more than one month of receiving it. Normally, I aim to provide a complete response, including a copy of your personal data within that time. In some cases, however, particularly if your request is more complex, more time may be required up to a maximum of three months from the date I receive your request. You will be kept fully informed of my progress.
